Planned Giving

Planned gifts can provide increased income and valuable tax savings to you, while at the same time allowing you to make a significant commitment to the future of the Xaverian Brothers. Planned giving options include bequests, trusts, and life-income gifts.

Bequests Remembering the Xaverian Brothers in your will is a special and effective way to ensure that the mission and ministry of the Xaverian Brothers continues into the future. You may designate the Xaverian Brothers to receive a bequest of a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or specific assets such as stock securities or real estate. Your request can be designated for a specific purpose, for example, the care of our retired Brothers, the support of our overseas missions, or the continuation of our Xaverian Sponsored Schools.

When you rewrite your will or add a codicil, please consider a charitable bequest.

Ask your attorney to include this suggested language:
I give, devise or bequeath to the Xaverian Brothers USA, Inc., a non-profit 501(C) (3) corporation in Baltimore, Maryland, (insert here a percentage of my estate, an amount in dollars, or property such as securities or real estate) for its general purposes, or for the following purposes:

  • Securities
You can make such gifts by mail or through a broker. For tax purposes, the value of the gift is recorded as the average mean on the postmark date. If transferred by a broker, the gift’s value is determined by the date of transfer into the Xaverian Brothers’ account.

  • Life Income Gifts
With a life income gift, you assign cash, securities, or other assets irrevocably to the Xaverian Brothers. They are then invested to pay a lifetime percentage or fixed amount to you, to succeeding beneficiaries, or to whomever you designate. Income is paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. Upon the death of the last surviving beneficiary, the Xaverian Brothers my use the assets as needed, or for a specific purpose that you have designated.

  • Personal Property
Gifts of valuable art works, antiques, or jewelry can be a valuable source of support for the work of the Brothers.

  • Real Estate
You can offer real estate as an immediate gift or to fund a trust.

  • Life Insurance
By naming the Xaverian Brothers as the beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy, you can provide a significant source of support for the Brothers.
